Roland have announced the new SH-01 synth - and it's got its own name this time: The Roland Gaia. Like its bigger brother, the SH201, the SH01 is incredibly simple to use, but is still packed with plenty of character. Based on Roland's virtual analogue technology, the SH-01 has 3 sound engines, each with their own oscillator, amp, LFO and filter sections. 64-voice polyphony and built in effects, phrase recorder and arpeggiator mean the SH-01 can take you from a simple pad to a full-on composition in a fun, intuitive and inspiring way.

The SH-01 is ideal for beginners to the world of synthesis who might be daunted by more complex synths, and also for the recording or touring professional that needs high quality synthesis in a portable, easy-to-manipulate package. The Gaia will be shipping around July 2010 and is available to pre-order from Andertons now!
